Each month, a collection of the best work nominated by Sessions instructors is posted in the student work area. Below are three highlights from the November gallery submissions. Our congratulations to all students featured.
We really liked Amber Percival’s Squamish, British Columbia travel poster. The poster scored high on several counts: simple and engaging use of color with good value contrast, playful artwork, and clear typography. Notice how the reversed type “British Columbia” catches your eye like the sun peeking over the horizon.

Nigel Andreola did a beautiful job with his CSS layout in Dreamweaver II. The layout skillfully builds in areas for dynamic site features and taps the excitement of video game graphic screenshots without sacrificing the readability of page content.

Finally, Christa White, who’s fast becoming a frequent flyer in the student gallery, did a super job in her musical typography poster. Not only did Christa use type to create various textural effects that complement her banjo illustration—weaving them into a masterful composition—but she also used typefaces that evoke the stenciled text of the Wild West era.
