Core theory courses build your vocabulary in the visual arts, exploring the purpose and methodology of art-making. Drawing and painting classes instill a rigorous, traditional approach to representing still life and human subjects with attention to critical concepts of line, mass, form, perspective, value, color, and composition. Courses provide an array of options for self-expression in different art media including drawing, painting, and digital photography.
The Fine Arts Certificate program includes seven core classes and you can complete in nine months or less.

Do you already have some fine art or design experience? You may be able to customize your Fine Arts Certificate program by substituting courses with others from the same subject area. For example, you may be able to take Digital Photography II in place of Digital Photography I. Your advisor can help you make the best course selections.
