FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SCHOOL OF DESIGN, SESSIONS, AWARDED MIDDLE STATES REGIONAL ACCREDITATION

Sessions Schools of Art and Design becomes the only online educator of design awarded dual accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Secondary Schools and the Distance Education and Training Council.

New York – November 28, 2006 – Sessions Schools of Art and Design has been awarded regional accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Secondary Schools (MSCSS), the first such online educator to do so under a recently announced collaborative agreement between MSCSS and the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC). Sessions has been accredited by the DETC since 2001.

MSCSS is one of six regional accrediting agencies recognized around the world for promoting standards of quality for schools and its protocols promoting school improvement. DETC is a well-known leader in recognizing and promoting quality distance education schools. Both MSCSS and DETC are recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as approved accreditation agencies.

"Since our launch in 1997, we have been devoted to leading the online education industry in academic excellence," stated Doris Granatowski, Sessions CEO. "The Middle States accreditation identifies Sessions as a quality online education institution of creative arts and design.  We look forward to working with the DETC and Middle States to further elevate the standards of online education."

The DETC and MSCSS share similar benchmarks for quality assessment of schools seeking accreditation.  Sessions was nominated by the DETC for consideration to the Middle States Commission due to a track record of exceptional accreditation reviews and strong student feedback and success.

"This is recognition by the accreditation community that academic quality knows no boundaries in terms of how an institution is organized and operated, whether it is a private school or a publicly supported school teaching traditionally or online.  It's the final "Seal of Approval" attesting to the quality of Sessions' learning programs," said Mike Lambert, Executive Director of DETC.

Linda Huskey, Associate Director of MSCSS, stated, "We were impressed with the quality of the Sessions curriculum, the attitude of excellence and community fostered by the leadership of the school, as well as the online tools that enable staff and students to monitor their progress real time."
