FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ONLINE SCHOOL OF DESIGN, SESSIONS, LAUNCHES MYGALLERY, AN ONLINE IMAGE REPOSITORY OF ALL COURSEWORK…

MyGallery, the online image repository of Sessions.edu
New York – June 21, 2007 –Sessions, the leader in online design education, has recently launched MyGallery, a breakthrough tool that effortlessly allows students, faculty and administrators to view a student's entire body of Sessions work in one place.
MyGallery integrates with the Angel Learning Management system to chronologically display each student's entire body of graded work, complete with an option for full-size viewing and detailed course description information. A dynamically generated program, MyGallery requires no extra work by students or administration to operate yet provides invaluable assistance to all participants in the learning process.
Students in the online community at Sessions will immediately benefit from being able to see the 'big picture' of their overall progress in the program. It's hard to see improvement when you’re in the thick of completing an individual course assignment; MyGallery helps to build momentum by reinforcing progress towards a long-term goal. Being able to view a collected body of work will help students register long term achievement, as well as identify overarching patterns, choices and aesthetic sensibilities that run throughout their budding practice.
'Sessions is my first shot at design—the first time I opened Photoshop was for my first class. So I like looking at my work to see how far I’ve come already. It helps keep me motivated,’ says student Shane Philips. ‘After I finish a class I like to look at MyGallery just to see another class under my belt.'
MyGallery also facilitates a closer relationship between students and faculty by allowing instructors full access to their student’s profile page. Together, students and instructors can match artistic and educational objectives with concrete outcomes, as well as constructively troubleshoot smaller course problems with the strength of an overall perspective on a body of work. As an added practical benefit, the fully accessible compilation of jpgs makes MyGallery a valuable portfolio-building tool.
MyGallery utilizes technology to achieve online what would be nearly impossible at an on-ground university—by amassing cross-course information digitally, MyGallery collates a complete snapshot of student performance, ultimately providing a more nuanced consideration of each student's overall creative output. It's a technology that effectively mitigates the ivory tower effect so common in both online and on-ground learning.
Through technological innovations like MyGallery, Sessions continues to advance the quality of online education for the next generation of designers.
