The Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) program in Web Design is a 72-credit program with 54 graphic and Web design credits and 18 general education credits. This full-time, six-semester program takes two years to complete and is fully online. Part-time options are also available over a longer timeframe.
Did you know? You may be able to complete the Web Design program in less than two years if you qualify for transfer credits.
The Web Design curriculum starts off by building foundational visual design and software skills and builds your writing and liberal arts skills with general education courses. You will then dive deeper into standards and practices in Web design and build your skills in software, coding, accessibility, and visual Web design. You will finish the program with an exploration of the design business world and the creation and critique of your professional portfolio.
In the first year, Web Design majors and Graphic Design majors take the same courses to build a foundation of design skills and general education:
Year two challenges you to create high-quality, well-coded Web sites. You will cover more of the languages, design and accessibility standards, and software that are necessary for working in the Web design industry. Your final semester tests your skills with a capstone project and a live online portfolio review setting you on a course for career success.
