Tsia Carson
Tsia Carson is an accomplished designer with an extensive background in the fine arts, semiotics and new technologies. She has served on the board of the NY Chapter of the AIGA and is currently serving on the board of the Church of Craft. Tsia has taught at Yale's Graduate Program for Graphic Design, the University of the Arts College of Media and Communication in Philadelphia, Parsons School of Design and Hunter College. She has a master's degree from O.S.U and an undergraduate degree from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. In her spare time she works on a plan to create a wildlife preserve on the rooftops of lower Manhattan. Tsia loves NY.
Julie Shaffer
Julie Shaffer is the director of the Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF) Digital Printing Council (DPC) and heads up Center for Digital Printing Excellence at PIA/GATF headquarters in Sewickley, PA. Shaffer is well known for her graphic production expertise and is often called upon for training, presentations and to provide on-site consulting throughout the world. She conducts research on diverse topics such as PDF color management and Web-to-print implementation and is a frequent contributor to printing industry publications. Shaffer is co-author of a widely popular and informative book, The PDF Print Production Guide (1st and 2nd edition).
Jason Cranford Teague
Jason Cranford Teague has been a Web design innovator for over 12 years, ever since he designed the first Web-based magazine, Computer Mediated Communications, in 1994. Since then, Jason has had clients both small and large, including independent filmmakers and underground musicians as well as corporations such as Virgin and Bank of America. Jason has written numerous books about Web design, print design, video production, and photography, including the best selling CSS, DHTML, and Aja x (Peachpit Press) and Final Cut Pro and the Art of Filmmaking (Sybex). He's currently the Creative Director for AOL RED ( www.beRED.com ) which he recently successfully launched onto the Web. Lew Baldwin
Lew Baldwin is a filmmaker, artist, designer and musician from Dallas currently working in NY and LA. Lew was recently seen creating beautiful images for the likes of New Zealand/NYC superstar designer Rebecca Taylor and directing a video and re-mixing the track for up-and-comer Juiceboxxx, seen on MTV. After a stint doing TV design at c|net television, Lew's creative work was recognized internationally when he was included in the 2000 Whitney Biennial at the Whitney Museum of American Art. In addition to his new media art, Lew's commercial endeavors include working on campaigns for such companies such as Nike and Nickelodeon. Lew also contributed composition and visual effects to the feature film November, which won the Sundance Cinematography Award in 2004 distributed by Sony Pictures Classics.
David Shea
Dave Shea is the creator and cultivator of the highly influential web site csszengarden.com, and co-author of the recently-published Zen of CSS Design (New Riders, 2005). The founder and design lead of Bright Creative in Vancouver, BC, Dave also writes for a large global audience of web designers and developers on his popular weblog, mezzoblue.com. His sites have won multiple awards, including 'Best of Show 2004' at the South by Southwest Interactive conference in Austin, TX . Dave and his work have been featured in numerous books and magazines, including Wired, Germany's Page Magazine, and Japan's Style Sheet Style Book, among others. He has spoken internationally at design and technology industry conferences, including Web Directions, Carson Workshops, SIGGRAPH, SXSW, and more. With over 10 years of experience working on the web, Dave is a member of the new generation of designers that believe in useful and responsible web design. Access for all users and devices, support for open standards, graceful interoperability between front- and back-end code, and highly detailed visuals are all par for the course.
Todd Macadangdang
Todd Macadangdang is an award-winning published artist with over 15 years experience as an illustrator for both print and the Web. Todd's clients have included Viacom, VH1/MTV, Disney Channel Online, Nickelodeon, National Geographic, and Adobe Systems. Todd spent over four years on the Adobe Illustrator development team at Adobe Systems, in San Jose, CA providing input on features and usability and currently serves as the Director at Illustratorworld.com, the largest community for Adobe illustrators on the Internet. Over the past ten years Todd has lectured to groups that range in size from 40 to 4000 and developed both online and DVD training programs for traditional and digital illustration.
David Stiller
David Stiller is a career multimedia programmer/designer whose portfolio includes NASA, Adobe, and major US automotive and boat manufacturers. He likes anaglyph 3D photography, finely crafted wooden game boards, Library of Congress field recordings, and Turkish coffee. David is self-taught and gets a kick out of sharing "aha!" moments with others through consultation, mentoring, and regular contributions to the Flash and ActionScript forums at Adobe.com. He is a resident author at Community MX, co-author of Foundation Flash CS3 for Designers (friends of ED) and contributor to How to Cheat in Adobe Flash CS3 (Focal Press), by Chris Georgenes. David lives in Virginia with his amazing wife, Dawn, and his beguiling daughter, Meridian.
Sandy Williams
The co-founder of BarnettWilliams, a New York City-based interactive agency, Sandy Williams manages a team of information architects, interactive designers, and web developers for clients such as TIAA-CREF, JP Morgan, Pfizer, Empire BlueCross BlueShield and Medco Health. Sandy 's online industry experience spans 12 years with a focus on user experience and strategy. Prior to BarnettWilliams, he was Director of Project Management for Vizooal, an Internet strategy firm, where he managed major web engagements for companies such as Unisys and Cisco and helped develop a number of groundbreaking online B2B applications. Formerly a Ph.D. candidate in Slavic Languages and Literatures at Stanford University , Sandy teaches seminars on web usability and sits on the Web Users Group Steering Committee at the UJA - Federation of New York. He is also a board member of AASEI, a Russian environmental not-for-profit organization. |
