Hi Peggy,
Thanks for your comment. I'm sorry, but I believe you misread the post. Those awards aren't given by NoD, they are given by Exhibitor Magazine. You can learn more about the Exhibition Awards here: http://www.exhibitoronline.com/awards/eda/.

Hi Jean:

I'm in the process of creating a new line of products for my company and need my graphic designer to release all rights to the files she's creating. She has agreed to do so but do you have any sample verbiage or sample agreements I could use to make this agreement binding?

Hi Wade - You're absolutely right (soapbox or not :)). I've added the names of the photographers and apologize on behalf of NoD for trying to skate by just crediting the source and not the individual creators. We'll be more mindful of this going forward and, believe it or not, are grateful that you took the time to point it out!

This is a great post, thanks for the information about the great efforts that these people are making toward the rebirth of a beautiful town. However, I have one issue...

Huffingtonpost.com is NOT a photographer. Facebook is NOT a photographer. Flikr is not a photographer. Please find out the name of the person who actually took these pictures, as they are deserving of the credit. I would think that, since especially in education, correct attribution is necessary for footnotes and bibliographical info, it should be necessary for photography as well.

Great collection and onservations, Abs!

Another recent campaign that I thought was really effective was Greenpeace's Detox campaign against international clothing manufacturers such as H&M that dump toxic waste into local water supplies.

http://www.greenpeace.org/international/en/campaigns/toxics/water/detox/

Seems so much more effective when these campaigns develop into real-world public interventions as opposed to remaining only digital.. agree?

Subscribed as well, got 'a' code, but didn't work on Mighty Deals website. Not cool guys.

This seems like a publication I want to be subscribed to, and searching for coupon codes is how I stumbled upon it.

So now even if the content is great I still feel a little cheated...

Thanks guys, my deal runs out in 8 hours.

I'm against underlined links because it creates a blocky solid form that contradicts the otherwise organic nature of the letterforms and how they have been perfected to look legible and unified for centuries. Underlining is not seen in any bible or old published book all the way to printed novels of current day. Not in newspapers or magazines.

Underlining is a holdover from the typewriter age. Typewriters have no bold or italic styling. So the only way to emphasize text was to back up the carriage and type shortcomings in typewriter technology. The Web does not suffer from this shortcoming.

If you want to emphasize text you now only need to bold, italicize or change the color. Color is the most appropriate form for web because it does not change the word per line count on rollovers, where changing styles would. Easiest way to communicate a link to people is with color. Color is LIVE and LINKED, all other text is DARK and DEAD.
