Not everybody has the self-discipline to self motivate and to run a successful home business. ALso, remember to keep business finances separate from personal finances. Keep a reserve of funds to promote and operate the business that you do not touch for personal use. Treat it as you would your employers business. While it's true you can be in business in a few minutes, you also need to figure out all of the details behind running a business. You've hit the nail on the head in this post and I would add things like insurance, accounting, invoicing, sales taxes and personal taxes, etc. It can be overwhelming if you don't have the answers. I recommend getting a good mentor who has been running their business for a while to help you through the details!
