Have you ever seen a beautiful design and been curious who created it? Would you like to not only learn who the designer is but also interview them? Me too. And so, I thought I’d try something new and invite NoD readers to site beautiful designs that they have seen, past or present. And then NoD editors (or perhaps other NoD readers) will help us find the designers behind the designs we love. A great ad, an amazing animation, a beautiful package design, a perfect font…anything goes.
So, post a comment to this entry below and we’ll start investigating. When we find out who the designer is we’ll share their name with you and may even try to get a Q&A published with them, and YOU can be the interviewer. Also, feel free to suggest designers whose names you know and whom you would like to interview.

Maybe a hard one, definitely an international one: who designed the cutlery in the restaurant at the Movenpick Hotel in Amsterdam with those endlessly entertaining and frustrating knives (the handle @ 90 degree angle to the blade so knife blade sits vertically)? Thanks if you can solve the mystery for me!
Wow, that’s a tough start!
No doubt! But I’ve already emailed the hotel. ;-) The hunt is the fun part. More please!
I’d like to see an interview with Roxanne Slimak. She worked in many package designs for music albuns that I love.
I’d like to know who came up with the idea for the iconic iPod silhouette ads. Maybe it’s an in-house designer and impossible to track down, but if it could be found, I’d love to see an interview.
Anton Corbijn! He designs, photographs and does everything in a project! He works in b&w like no other and makes amazing things with so few elements. He makes all the art for Depeche Mode! :D
Lately I tried to figure out who is the head of design at Audi. I really like the new R8 design! Thanks for your help!
I just love this idea.It would be nice to get into the head of some of these designers.
Great idea! would love to read some of these interviews
Love the idea buy would like to know who the designer was.
I often drive through the parking lots of new or renovated malls where I live. And I would like to talk to the engineers and architects who designed them. Because it’s amazing how there doesn’t seem to be any thought put into the simple design of the parking lot and the access roads. So I would like to take the people who designed them for a ride and show them the problems and how they could easily improve the access ability of them. Anyways, that’s my rant…
Cheers!
Very nice article. Great site.
