Ebay has created a new sub-site where “shopping shapes the world.” World of Good offers products designed with sustainability in mind. Lately, I’ve been thinking that my choices as a consumer could be as significant as my professional ambitions to take on responsible clients and projects. And what girl doesn’t like to learn that a shopping spree can help others?

Users can search by cause, purchase impact, or category. Art, clothing and accessories, educational objects, and sports are just a few of the many categories. Check out this hip felt laptop bag by Tom Bihn (biodegradable and made from fair trade materials), create a studio mascot with one of these cotton stuffed llamas, or imagine your business card in this funky frame by Fred R. Lopez, whose work has been used for the New Mexico logo.

It looks like eBay saw ETSY as competition. Great move.
