That’s pretty good idea actually because when a visitor encounters a 404 File Not Found error on your site, you're on the verge of losing the visitor that you've worked so hard to obtain through the search engines and third party links. So when you create your custom 404 error page allows you to minimize the number of visitors lost that way.

Great addition, and great 404 page, Tammy! Humor can really engage the audience and keep them at your site at a time when they'd typically run away.

Great list! I'd also add: Use humor.

I've actually had people write me notes to ask about the lashes I mention on my 404 page (http://lenski.com/404.php). I think they were joking. Hope. Yeah.
