Graphic Design Advanced Certificate

certificates: foundation | advanced | master's

Looking to develop a career as a visual designer in publishing or branding/advertising? The Advanced Certificate program helps you acquire essential skills and build a creative portfolio with advanced classes.

As an Advanced program student, you'll complete the Foundation level, developing proficiency in industry-standard software programs: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. As you prepare digital images, illustrations, and layouts, you will learn how to make creative choices in color, typography, composition, and visual identity.

At the Advanced level, students choose a professional concentration: Print Design or Brand Identity. Challenging hands-on projects are geared to helping you hone your work and build your portfolio. Class assignments explore scenarios in advertising, branding, packaging, logo design, and print publishing.

Upon completing the Advanced Level, you'll present a body of work to a portfolio review panel for feedback. The focus of the class is to help you present your work effectively to potential employers.

Need motivation? Get critique, feedback, and mentoring from an industry-leading faculty throughout your program. Draw on a resourceful student services team for advisement and support. Watch your portfolio of work evolve on your MyGallery page and network with peers in the student community DesignSessions.
