About The Client
GenArt , a non-profit arts and entertainment organization
with offices in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco,
Miami and Chicago, is dedicated to showcasing emerging
fashion designers, filmmakers, musicians and visual
artists. Founded by a group of young art enthusiasts
in 1993, GenArt works to provide access to the film,
fashion and art worlds for those that are interested
in these areas. GenArt has a loyal following amongst
a 21-35 year old demographic generally comprised of
hip city dwellers who keep in touch with new developments
in the arts.
About The Project
This is our first HTML design competition. Competitors
will be asked to design an HTML invitation to the
GenArt Shopping Spree, a nighttime shopping and coctail
fundraising event. This invitation will be seen by
a fashion-conscious, hip NYC crowd, so the invitation
should be designed with that demographic in mind.
Even those of you just beginning to work with HTML
design should be comfortable doing this one-page invitation.
The Logo: Contestants will be asked
to use the GenArt logo (provided upon registration.)
The Copy: For the first submission,
competitors will use the copy from last year's invitation
(provided upon registration). Updated copy will be
provided for the winner, along with sponsor logos
which will be added onto the invitation, as per last
year's piece.
Colors/Fonts: Other than the limits
of readability on the web, there are no limitations
on fonts and color choices.
