My
passion lies in drawing beautiful, often sexy-ugly women,
often as an abstract fashion statement. I try to give
them a little life by adding floral or animal shapes
into their hair or fabric patterns. I am inspired my
many things, including Art deco and Art Nouveau but
fashion, costume history, and nature have a major influence
on my work. I create my drawings in black pen and transform
them in Illustrator and/or Photoshop.
I
have been freelancing for a year and a half and things
are quite good. My work has been included in "A
Book Designed to Help," a book of graphic design/art/illustration.
All proceeds from sales will go to the charity CARE,
who will use the funds to help the poorest communities
recover from the tsunami disaster. Also, I am featured
in a new compilation book by Taschen Publishers titled
"Illustration Now" out in July 2005.
Right now I am working on Illustrations
for one of the fairy tales for a new book titled "Arabian
Nights" commissioned by design publisher Die Gestalten Verlag
(DVG) Germany, samples of which you see above. They are all being done in Illustrator and finished in Photoshop. That’s
my news in short! |
