Sessions College Reaccreditation Visits

by Sessions Staff | September 14, 2010

Over the next two weeks, Sessions College will be hosting visits from two teams of accreditation evaluators at its Tempe, Arizona main campus and its New York executive office.

Sessions College is institutionally accredited by the accrediting commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) and accredited at the certificate program level by the Middle States Commission on Secondary Schools.

[Update: Since 2014, The DETC is now the DEAC: Distance Education Accrediting Commission.]

Both accrediting organizations are recognized by CHEA, the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

The DETC accreditation evaluations are a standard part of the school’s five year accrediting cycle and the culmination of a twelve-month self study process, during which evaluators are provided detailed reports on every aspect of a school’s education and business practices. Institutions seeking accreditation set out to meet established standards for the delivery of education.

Review of the new Associate Degree programs in Graphic Design and Web Design is an important goal of the evaluation.

The staff of Sessions College welcomes the evaluators and look forward to a productive accreditation visit and continued recognition of the value of a Sessions education. Students who have any questions about the school’s DETC accreditation can contact Sessions Chief Learning Officer Gordon Drummond at drummond@sessions.edu.
