Award-winning creative strategist and producer Deniz Coker earned his first degree in Design and Technology at Parsons School of Design.
Working at the intersection of design and digital media, Deniz went on to become a producer at 21st Century Fox / Walt Disney and a product manager and strategy consultant for major media and entertainment brands. In recent years he has worked as an advertising manager for Microsoft, working on casual games such as Solitaire, Mahjong, Jigsaw, and Treasure Hunt.
In this Sessions Live event, we will interview Deniz to unpack his career and address some key questions for design / digital media graduates:
- How to translate a foundation in design into a career in the always changing field of digital media.
- How to adapt from being a designer or content creator, to being a strategist, and advertising manager.
- How to get your foot in the door, and stay fresh and fulfilled as you take on new professional opportunities.

Deniz Coker
Interactive Designer, Advertising Product Manager, Strategy Consultant
Deniz has over a decade of experience in the entertainment and tech industries. He’s worked on multiple Emmy/award-winning productions, and is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of television and advertising. At the Walt Disney Company and 21st Century Fox, he helped run a creative studio producing original branded content and advertising. He’s helped top brands launch Super Bowl spots, marketed major theatrical releases, and won awards for innovating a few industry firsts.
Dr. Meryl Epstein
Dean of Academic Affairs, BFA Faculty
Dr. Meryl P. Epstein is the Dean of Academic Affairs for Sessions College. In her role, Dr Epstein strives to inspire excellence and is consistently focused on supporting the creative and positive environment of Sessions College. Prior to joining Sessions College, Meryl has extensive experience in design, education, and leading academic teams and has served as Dean of Academic Affairs, Program Chair, Doctoral Development Faculty, Art Director, Graphic Design Manager, Faculty member (online and on-ground), and Exhibiting Artist/Photographer. Highlights from her career include implementing and leading the graphic design of three different museums (Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Arizona Science Center, and Arizona Historical Museum) and receiving the first Arizona AIGA fellow award.
