(Note: FrontPage 1.0 for the Mac is NOT recommended in this course.)
An account with a web hosting service. Free services are not recommended. Any ISP must have FrontPage extensions available.

Outline:

LESSON 1 Introducing FrontPage Explore the three basic sections of FrontPage (the editor, the maintenance tools and the server extensions), set up FrontPage to do your bidding and learn what FrontPage can do for you (Hint: a lot). In the exercise, you'll publish your first FrontPage page using your favorite poem.

LESSON 2 The FrontPage Editor Learn how to build a basic page from scratch, addressing text styles and layouts that will give your page a professional look. And speaking of professionalism, in the exercise you'll create and publish your own online resume.

LESSON 3 Hyperlinks and Images Discover the important considerations behind image use that Web designers must contend with on a daily basis — image size, image placement, color depth and the differences between gifs and jpegs are all addressed with an eye towards making your page the best it can be. You'll also create hyperlinks, bookmarks and URLs for your own site. Then in the exercise it's time to create a complete Web site — at least three pages all about you!
