Heaven and Hell. Student Eli Lea
from Norway experimented with different filters, blending
modes, and the dodge and burn tools, to create these
two images.
Like learning on the job? In this course, you'll tackle
three professional digital imaging assignments using Photoshop,
learning techniques and tips used by the professionals.
Course projects include a CD-ROM cover, an optical
illusion, and a cover for a documentary video. Each exercise is
deconstructed (and reconstructed) step-by-step, to give you a thorough
understanding of how to create successful digital graphics.
LESSON 1 Alien Encounter
Dive right in with a picture I made for the new "haBlaB"
(ambient music) CD. We will learn to combine multiple images and
to manipulate the final image to achieve the subtle effects that
make the difference.
LESSON 2 Tunnel of Light
Start the more complex of the two projects by setting up
the background, or "tunnel," for a digital imaging illusion.
This exercise will give you working knowledge of filters, curves,
and quick masks.
LESSON 3 Gray Zones
We'll cover some more advanced features of Photoshop involving the
use of masks, color range, and shadows. We'll create the video cover
for the Graffiti Documentary "Gray Zones" directed by
filmmaker Juris Poskus in an exercise that covers Layer Blending
Modes and the Photoshop Type tool.
