New Video / Motion Graphics and Filmmaking Tracks

Expanding program options for Digital Media students

TEMPE, AZ (February 20, 2026).

On February 20th, 2026, Sessions College added even more affordable, stackable program options for Digital Media students. With the approval of its accrediting agency Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) , Sessions College has added two tracks to its Undergraduate Certificate in Digital Media program.

Students enrolling in the program can choose one of two tracks: Video and Motion Graphics or Filmmaking.

The addition of multiple track options in the 24-credit Undergraduate Certificate program provide more choice and customization in learning options for students who are training to develop in-demand skills for today's content creator economy. The program is one of several Undergraduate Certificate programs where students who are eligible for Federal Student Aid can utilize Federal grants and loans to pursue a creative, career-center education.

The Undergraduate Certificate in Digital Media program provides a foundation in Photoshop and Premiere so that students can create, shoot, and edit images and movies for digital platforms. In the Video and Motion Graphics track, students develop an understanding of how to create vector graphics and animations using Adobe Illustrator and Animate. In the Filmmaking track, students explore writing for the screen and learn how to apply cinematic techniques, including shot types, composition, and lighting, to a series of creative projects.

Depending on their choice of tracks, students can build skills and experience in a range of creative Adobe software programs, and explore real world applications in a Filmmaking Concepts for Digital Media class that focuses on the application of cinematic shooting and editing techniques to create content for various social and digital media channels.

According to College President Gordon Drummond: "We're delighted to offer more entry points for filmmakers and content creators to get the skills they need to create images and shoot and edit video. Program graduates can apply their skills to today's digital platforms or transfer all their credits into our degree level programs."
