patientMoon, inc.: Junior Web Designer
(Boston, MA) Let’s get a few things straight before we start:
Now, about us:
We're a young, small (and growing!) web development studio providing full-service website and web application development for our clients. We're looking for a creative, thoughtful and innovative web designer to join our team.
We looked at a lot of job postings, and they’re often really drawn out and boring, so we'll try to make this quick. We really only need 3 things from you:
1) Wow us with your design work
2) Have strong opinions about web design and web technologies, and reasoning to back them up
3) Take initiative and thrive as part of a small team
Sound good? Here's the day-to-day.
Your work will be roughly 70% web design and 30% front-end development (i.e. web apps and custom functionality). You’ll work on both our clients’ projects, and our in-house apps and marketing. We're a small team, so your work will truly matter, and we'd like to invest in your knowledge and growth every bit as much as you contribute to ours.
For tech & tools, this is the kind of stuff we’d love if you’re up on:
We’d also like you to know (and we’ll teach you if you don’t):
PS - while we work with small businesses in a number of industries, we're developing a bit of a following amongst yoga and fitness studios. If you're really interested in working with those sorts of clients, let us know.
Job Perks: Make a difference: we're a small team, so your contributions truly matter Grow with us: this is a great role to learn in and will be a major advancement opportunity as our team develops Benefits: medical and dental insurance, paid vacations/holidays Easy commute: Red/Orange/Green/Silver lines are within 5 minute walk
Apply: Please send your *web* design portfolio (other work is great too, but have plenty of web work to show) and a link to your own website(s) and/or blog, if you have one. You're also encouraged to provide a resume and/or cover letter, but your portfolio of excellent and varied web design work will be our main concern to start. Candidates who wow us will be contacted for further discussion.
