We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. The Constitution established the rules and separate powers of the three branches of the federal government: the legislature, the executive branch, and the judiciary, as well as outlining the principle of federalism.
Constitution Day is celebrated by schools and colleges across the United States in an effort to promote a greater understanding of the history of this important historical document and event. As a school entrusted by the United States government to administer Federal Student Aid, we are expected to promulgate an understanding of the constitution every year.

- The constitution was signed In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
- 39 people signed the Constitution, including Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and James Madison.
- The constitution was ratified by 11 states: Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, and New York, ratified the Constitution.
