Typography Studio

An understanding of typography is essential for any designer or artist who works with letterforms. In graphic design, typeface choices and layout are as important as color and composition to the overall message. In hand lettering, a mastery of type can add flair to any project.

In this 12-week online course, you can develop a foundation in typography for your art or design career or creative pursuits. In this course, you will learn the ins-and-outs of Adobe Illustrator, the tool designers use for typography layout. You will study how to design with typography, learning to recognize the features of type and use it for expression and communication.

You can choose an final elective course for your workshop: either our Watercolor course (watercolor is fast becoming a popular medium for hand lettering) or a course in Design Composition.
