Your Face on a Can of Granola is Now Possible

by Margaret Penney | November 8, 2017

Customizable packaging is the latest thing in package design. New technology plus creative distribution make it possible for brands to offer products custom-crafted for even just one person. Bear Naked Granola is on the forefront of this new-fangled packaging through their custom-made granola campaign.

At the Bear Naked website, you can create your own granola recipe and choose from over 50 chef-approved healthy and non-GMO ingredients, like olives, hemp seeds, and pomegranate. After you’ve made your selection IBM Watson, a super-charged AI Chef, takes your ingredients and sifts through thousands of ingredients to come up with something both magical and delicious. Once you’re finished you can “add your paw print to the design” by adding your face (or paw print) to super cute and a little bit rustic packaging.

The custom granola packaging is a great idea but extra special because the end product is actually valuable — it’s tasty and has great packaging. If you’re looking for gift ideas for a nature loving or healthy foodie — custom granola might be just the thing.

As designers, custom packaging opens up a whole new world of creative possibilities for us and our clients. Essentially, it’s a smart way to add value to a brand and their products.
