Free Font Friday: Quezon
by Margaret Penney | January 13, 2017
We have a beautiful type design for this Free Font Friday. Quezon is a humanist font designed by Kimchi Lee. The font is named after the “Father of the Filipino Language” and the city where Lee grew up. Quezon has lovely curled descenders and a calligraphic almost hand-drawn look giving it a casual elegance. The design is a mixture of art deco and inspired by the ancient Filipino script “Baybayin”. The font has a one-of-a-kind look and would work well for branding, signage and packaging projects, in particular.
Quezon is free but also “Pay What You Can” and Lee states all proceeds will go to educational charities to support in the fight against systemic poverty in the Philippines.
